rivers edge bowhunter ladder stand

I just bought this stand and set it up yesterday. This morning when I got in it it is creaking and making all sorts of noise. Anyone ever have this happen before? I am going to bring a couple wrenches with after work today and tighten the bolts again but it seems like it is coming from the foot platform. Only way it is quiet is if I am sitting down the whole time. Kinda stinks for a $150 stand.

I had an old ameristep steel climber that I bought on the cheap years ago. It rocks, but is very heavy. I upgraded with a cheap climber that was on sale last fall at a local big box hardware store. Eighty bucks and ten pounds lighter. First time in it I realized it was going to have issues. The base creaks just like yours and on still day's it is a major disadvantage in the game. Simple fix for me was to take the old ameristep base and hook it up with the newer stands top. Worked like a charm. My suggestion from trial and error is to look at how the frame of the base is made. The old stand of mine had three major supports that ran under the wire mesh where my feet stood. The new one had a "T" support bracket. That configuration allowed too much unsupported wire mesh, hence the creaking noise. Hope that helps a little. BC
