Chatfield and Spinney in October

Trout fishing at Spinney remains strong for fish over 20". Top lures for me are countdown Rapalas, Yakima Flatfish, Yakima FST spoons, and the Venator Wobbler. Trout are all over Pelican point and off of both edges of this structure.

Chatfield is making each fish a workout but worth the effort. I always shoot for 5 to 10 fish a trip this time of year and am hitting this mark consistently with efficient and accurate jigging. Trolling Hot-n-tots 9 to 15 feet deep at night through the channel was a good pattern but we have switched to casting Rapala Husky Jerks and Yakima Hawg Nose Flatfish towards shallow areas with weeds. Nothing huge yet for me, but every trip tosses your hat into the ring for a master angler walleye.
