Getting Wild games on Netflix

PropsterII

Question

Wasn't sure if this was the best place for this question, but I have seen posts on Direct TV and others and there seems to be a reasonably knowledgeable bunch here regarding those type questions. My question is this, my daughter and her fiance have Netflix, but are huge hockey fans. Having just had a baby a couple weeks ago, the days of running around to various places to watch games are past. Is there a program or service that one can purchase that allows them to get Wild games on Netflix? If so how do you go about it and what does it cost generally? Seems I've heard concerns of local games being blacked out so this may not be a great thing I can get them after all. Thank you.

Netflix only offers movie and TV episodes. It does not braodcast live local sports or other local broadcasting. Your daughter will need to subscribe to satellite or Cable TV to get Fox Sports North who broadcasts the majority of the Wild games.

First off you've got some terminology wrong. Think of netflix like an app on a phone/computer. The device might be able to get a different app that streams live hockey games, but it won't be through netflix. Netflix is a movie streaming service only. Does that make sense?

Contrary to what the poster above is saying, you can get live hockey games without paying for cable or satellite dish.

NHL has something called gamecenter live that streams live games to your device, and that device could be a smart TV, roku box, playstation/xbox, etc etc. It's $160 for the season. And they black out local games.

There are ways around blackouts, but expect to pay another $50 a year for a service that hides your location. I may or may not know somebody that does this for the similar service from MLB.
