Very interesting discussion with two veteran anglers on how the on the water etiquette has changed in the last few years. They're talking in particular about tournaments, but I think the same thing extends to recreational anglers, and for some of the same root causes. I know I routinely see stuff these days that would have resulted in a fist fight in the boat ramp parking lot 20 years ago.

Tournament fishing at that level doesn't sound like much fun any more.

Still seems like it would be more fun than my job!

My new rule for when people crowd in on me is to start talking to them. I'll ask what they were catching over there, what they are biting on and such. After a minute or two of having to talk with me, they usually take off and go somewhere else for some odd reason!
