Bear recovery?

Something I have thought about and wonder. Who has ever not been able to recover a bear the same night that they have shot it? Was the meat still good if you recovered it the next morning. I always worry about losing a blood trail at night and not find until the next morning. I know sometimes on those hunting shows they don't get them until the next morning and it makes me wonder if the meat is even any good.

Most of it depends on the outside temps. We had a few where we didn't have much of a choice but to wait until morning since they headed into a wet deep grass swap. One we didn't find after hours of looking the next morning and the other was a little strong smelling when found, but it eat! wink
