Having issues with the Mariner. Very hard starting, once started runs good.

We were putting it in the first time and I went to start the motor, it would not start. We monkeyed with it and determined the top cylinder isn't firing, we swapped plugs with the same result. After some more trying it just started to fire, put it in the lake ran good.

Taking it out Saturday was going across the lake and it seems like one of the cylinders stopped firing. very noticeable slow down, continued to run though.

I read the below, Could It be a spark plug?

Brain box?

Coil?

Gas?

Any advice would be appreciated.
