It's a bad picture, they definitely had gills. I checked in two books and they were a dead-wringer for Indigo Milkies. We didn't eat them after reading they aren't very tasty. We didn't eat the Club Corals either.

I wasn't sure that was a King either, but it definitely was a bolete and it didn't stain blue, so we tried a few pieces. It was pretty tasty. The chanterelles were outstanding; the lobsters were good but not great.

We made HOTW soup last night. It was delicious!

We used the soup recipe in the back of "Edible Wild Mushrooms of North America: A Field-to-kitchen Guide," by David W. Fischer, Alan E. Bessette.

I can type in the recipe if you don't have the book. The recipe is a bit complicated but well worth the effort. The only change we added was to finish it by adding a couple of splashes of cooking sherry at the end.
