Devils lake visit advice

Recommended Posts

4 60 year olds capable fisherman but novice walleye chasers. bringing motor home and no vehicle. need advice on best shoreline campground, boat rental, and location on this big lake. Should we stay at Woodlands, EastBay, or Casino. For example the casino only has pontoons and I think that would not be practical for a week of fishing, and they don't allow beer? Any and all help would really make this our retirement trip even more enjoyable. thanks

Welcome to Fishing Minnesota! I'm going to move this to the Devils Lake forum where you might have a better chance to get a response.

I would agree with you on not wanting to fish off a pontoon for the week...

Just a few miles west of the town of Devils Lake. Devil's Lake is a lot of water, so you'll be a long way from the east end. Lot's of fishable water closer to the resort though.

Check out their HSOforum for maps or better yet, just give them a call. I didn't know where to start on my first trip out there, but called the resort and they took alot of time to answer all my questions with no pressure to make a quick decision. In fact, I think I called three times before booking anything.
