Question - Direct Vent Gas Fireplace & Cold Air Returns for Furance

Alright so I would like to put a direct vent gas fireplace in my main floor living room. I have one wall that is the ideal spot for an install but the furnace cold air return vent is center right where I would like the fireplace to be. My questions:

Is there a minimum distance code between the two?

If there is/is not a minimum will help determine if moving the return is even an option.

Thanks for the help!

To answer your question YES there is a code on the spacing, you need to talk to the city for that distance (is like 36" or something), I had to pull a permet to install my fireplace in Blaine. You have to also have the fire block and caulking done right also. The gas line has to be pressure tested at 30 psi for 20min. Better safe then burn down your house with your family in it.
