AC Issues

for the past month my central air at home has been acting up. I had clean the unit from all fuzz and cottonwood debris with the hose earlier but I was out of town and my wife ran it a few weeks later and the outside unit had accumulated a lot of debris on it by then and it froze up inside. I defrosted it and cleaned the unit off with the hose.

It worked but then the circuit kept blowing from time to time. At that point I called in a HVAC pro and he came out and said everything checked out fine. Once he left the same issues occurred, circuit would blow from time to time and it also seemed like it would run independent of the thermostat telling it to run aka it would never stop running.

Next step I called my father in law who is an electrician, he suggested a new breaker (2-40amps) and came out and replaced it even though he said the present one was fine. He noticed no problems and left thinking we should be golden.

Bottom line, same issues after having two pros out. They say everything is fine when they are here but from time to time the circuit blows or the unit runs all night and in the am it's frozen up inside. Some days it seems to run fine. It's not a problem of the outside unit being dirty because I'm checking it every day when I'm trouble shooting.

One last piece of info, we have a two zone system so we have two thermostats one on main level of house and one in the upper level. Also it is eleven years old.

If it freezes up its either low on refrigerant or air flow is restricted .

Check furnace filter Pleated filters slow air flow some are better than others

Check your return air in house maybe you move furniture in front of it

Your A coil could be dirty causing air flow to be restricted.

You say you have dual zones . This could also cause issue .

Your trunk supply line for dual zones should have a air flow dump.

This allows all the air in trunk line to go to zone shutoff's once it hit the zones if one is shut it should dump that air back into your return trunk.

what ever your ac unit says for fuses I would use example 30 amp use it don't go bigger.
