Night smallmouth

Night fished the river quite a bit over the years and last night got a few nice smallies around midnight pitching jigs which is quite odd for me. Anyone else get them at night, probably over the last 5 years on the river caught 2 at night. Alot of ambient light in the area which I thought might have helped with lack of moon.

There's an article on that in the last bassmaster mag. Myself, haven't done it. I would suspect with how much the river is clearing up around here (high water aside) that the night bite could be heating up...
