JSK76
I have 2 long dents in my aluminum siding on my fish house about 20". The dents really bother me but to replace the panels would require total dismantling that side of the camper. I thought about making faux hatch doors to cover them up but then I thought about adding solar panels over the top instead. I realize 20" off the ice isn't an ideal placement for a solar panel but I'm working with what I have. You guys with solar panels on the side of your fish house what direction do you face them, south or west? Also do you think I would need to make them tip out at an angle or can I just mount them flat? My number one concern is covering the dents and the trickle charge to my battery would just be a bonus. Whoaru99
South, generally, produces the most power overall. As far as angle, it varies for optimum power output. The angles below are for location around Duluth (St. Cloud changes only by +1 degree for Nov, Jan, Feb. Dec's number is the same), and are relative to the vertical plane.November = 27 degreesDecember = 20 degreesJanuary = 27 degreesFebruary = 35 degrees
