vister
Alright, so I have a 2010 nissan titan cc pro4x. Yesterday I noticed a little wet spot on garage floor. Ran my finger through it, it was rather slippery, but not engine oil. I thought hmmmm, tranny fluid? But why so far forward? Crawled underneath to have a look. It was obvious there was a leak, and it was tranny fluid. Bright red/pink. It appears as if a line that runs to the tranny cooler has sprung a leak. I started it up, put it in drive with brake applied, (to warm up tranny quicker) and applied gas until transmission temp gauge began to climb. Put in park, engine still idling, and climbed under to have a look. Was only able to muster one drop onto dry, clean cardboard. Wasn't able to find the source of the leak, however it appears to be where rubber hose clamps onto rigid line as a drop i wiped from clamp at beginning of test was replaced with another. Who knows, maybe formed just cause thats where it accumulated. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pinpoint leak source? Or know off hand the issue? And no, shoulda got a ford isn't the answer to my question. I love everything about this truck, other than its gas mileage
Jeremy airjer W
Spray off all the wet spots with brake clean. Start the engine and watch for the leak. Sounds like trans cooler lines are in your future. I would not power brake the vehicle to get the trans up to temp.
vister
Alright. I'll try it sometime. I'll just clarify, my means of "warming" tranny were only to have it in gear as to have fluid circulating, which I'm sure happens in park and neutral anyways. By no means was I smokin em off in the garage, or on the verge of it!Also, can anyone verify if there is a tsb regarding the trans cooler lines? I thought I saw something like that in my Internet quest for new parts and such

vister
Well, hopfully it is fixed. Ended up finding a power steering hose that looked like the guilty party.
