Minnewaska Bass

There is a lot of deep bass on Minnewaska. Go along in 8-10ft of water and watch your electronics for clumps of weed growth. There are a lot of patches of weeds that hold bass. Any patch in that 8-10ft will have them. Use either a jig/worm combo or a texas rigged 10" worm.

Thanks for the info. guys. Another quick question. I've read and heard there are some numbers of smallies in the lake as well. Do you typically find them mixed in with the largies on the weedlines, or do they have their own haunts? I'd love to get into some of them if possible.

I'm coming out camping for the weekend and fishing Minnewaska for bass. I've never been on the lake before in my life. Can anyone tell me a general area or pattern to try? How has the bite been? I'll either be out there Thurs. night or Fri. morning. Any help would be apprectiated. I've also posted this in the Alexandria forumn, but don't know which gets more traffic, so I included it here as well.

You'll run into the smallies just about anywhere the LM are. If you can find rocky areas you will find more SM. There are certain spots out there that hold lots of SM. I'd stick to the weedline areas in and around 10 feet of water.
