Coldwater Crappie Guy
I have a budget of up to 13k. I would like to get one that can sleep up to 4 and have a bathroom. It would be used year round. Stove and oven a must.AC would be a plus, but could do without.Let me know what you think and where I could get the best deal. Thanks! Redlineracer12
New or used? 13k doesn't leave you many options for a house that size. I think you're looking at 8x16 minimum. You could get a new 8x16 Yetti shell and finish yourself if you're handy. There aren't a lot of new finished houses in that size/price.13k would buy you a lot of options in the used market though.
Effie07
In 2010 I ordered an 8x20' Ice Castle after not finding one I liked. Sleeps 6, AC, Stove/Oven, Fridge, Bathroom, 11 holes (lights over 6), 1 piece roof, bay window, smooth screwless siding, 110v/12v converter, camo curtains and cushions. Only spent $15,200 after a 10% discount they were offering at the time because business was slow in February when I ordered it.That being said, barring that pricing hasn't changed drastically, I've got to believe you could build an 8x16 to fit your needs or find an 8x20 used ice castle in your price range unless you really aren't looking for a castle. theiceman
Just build your own! Me and a buddy built a 6.5/14 for about 2200 and it sleeps 3 and has a cook top with 6 holes. No bathroom we just bring a portable with and put a bucket in it.
Rexx
Spend the money and buy a Yetti-you won't regret it. No rot or rust like those steel framed houses. Plus it wont weigh as much as an 8 plex!
Coldwater Crappie Guy
Pulled the trigger and bought a 2015 Ice Castle. After looking at many different makes and models, they has the best for what I was looking for.The rhino coated frame looks like a good deal. sportfish
What model did you decide on ? Make sure you look it over good and try every thing before the ice comes . With a short season it's hard to get stuff worked on in the winter if needed . I'm bringing mine in next week for some warranty work and upgrade the furnace
Coldwater Crappie Guy
I bought the Lake of the Woods Hybrid. There is a place just North of Milaca that has a store that sells them and let me tell you they are have the best prices in the state. Dan the salesman is top notch. I will for sure be going thru it this Summer. I will be doing a lot of camping in it.
