Yamaha 2000 watt inverter/generator question

ccarlson

Question

I'm going to pick up a 2000 watt Yamaha inverter/gen. and I see they have two models. The EF2000iS and the EF2000iSH. Both have the same specs for output, size, weight, etc on the yamaha HSOforum other than a slightly different motor description. The iS is air cooled and the iSH is forced air cooled. It says the iSH is a new model and it is $150 more of course.

Any idea of what the practical difference is and whether it is worth getting one over the other?

I'm using my cabela's points and they don't sell Honda so brand is a non issue. The guy I talked to at Cabela's said he wasn't sure on the difference since they don't have the new model on hand yet. If it is worth having, I'll wait and get that, otherwise I'll pick up the original model.

Any thoughts?
