Shore Fishing- Inner City Miss.

I have had to re-locate in the last year to the St Paul area from the southern ring burbs where I had access to the Minnesota river out my back door. That being said I could always chased cats when I wanted with ease and now that I am living in the city (not by choice) I don't have access to my old haunts. Can anyone attest to the river fishing in the city? As my need for catfish starts to knock at the door with the warmer weather I have been out hiking around the river looking for decent spots to fish but I have come up dry most of the time. I understand the sippi is a much larger system and without having access to a boat right now I am limited.

Does anyone fish the inner city sections of the river for cats?

Are the size and numbers prevalent in the inner city?

I am fully competent in my ability so this is not a plea for spots, the whole thing is new to me and I am more curious how others have done in the past if you have fished the city.

Yes, shore fishing can be really good in the city. Sorry, I'd rather not point out specific spots, but there are a few key areas that have easy access and the right structure. Guys do really well. In fact a few guys I know do better from shore then from a boat and I've seen several pictures of 40-50lb flats over the past few years.

I'd recommend looking back at some archived threads.
