Open Water, where are you going first?

Believe it or not open water is going to be here in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Where are you going to go first? Anybody planning on going to Iowa?

I'll probably swing over to pool 4 in a couple weeks to get my open water fix. Still chasing walleyes through a hole in the ice, but that's coming to a close soon.

Small river outside of town generally opens up early and can be some good fishing so I will probably hit that first, while I wait for the lakes to open up.

Pool 4 if the weather warms up a bit and based on the way this winter is pool 4 maybe the only open water till june.

Pool 4 will probably by my first few outings too, but sometimes that zoo isn't worth the trouble. I'm thinking I may head to Iowa a few weeks before the MN opener to get some lake action in.

Got out for the first time of the year today. Only 2 other rigs at Evert's. It was darn cold out there with the wind and I even started to miss having a dual console boat on a couple runs. The Alumacraft is looking good with icicles hanging off her though.

Probably the Des Moines river and then pool 4. Hoping for my first trip to the rainy too.

Did pool 4 March 1, soon as the ramps open over north side be chasing channels on the river, opener have to keep local due to kids stuff and still try to get up to the Coon rapids dam in the boat at midnight. No matter where it is the snow can't melt fast enough.

St. Croix River opens soon. Looking forward to it! Cranks and crawlers is the ticket traditionally.
