devils lake conditions?

Hey guys heading up to devils lake in march and I was wondering what lake conditions are like currently,? I'm sure ice isn't an issue but how is the snow? are people driving out trucks or do you need tracks, thanks

You can get most places with trucks. Hopefully this continues, but we have been luck with the snow this winter. Seems like anytime we have got a lot of snow we have got a ton of wind that has been blowing it off the lake.

Thanks, holmsvc Trip is over a month away and a lot can happen with the weather, 2 years ago it was 50's and ice was melting fast, last year it was -15 windy and a blizzard,lol Just never know what to expect but that's what makes the trip fun, seperates the men from the boys.lol

Was up there last weekend and there was a fair amount of snow on the lake. Travel was not an issue as long as you steer clear of the larger drifts. We did a lot of weaving around bigger drifts in certain areas.

Thanks walleye 69 for the report, My plan is to head out there march 22 as of now weather permitting, so any info between now and then very much appreciated.

I have a trip planned march 1 and will let you guys know (weather permitting) so far it looks good!

I wouldn't worry about there being ice 3/22. There will likely be drivable ice in April this year unless we hit a week of 60s.

Ya, I'm thinking there should be good ice, I'm more curious about traveling on the lake as far as do we bring snowmobiles or will a guy be able to get around with atv's. Looking forward to the reports.
