Roosevelt Lake in Outing

Anyone ever fish Roosevelt for lake trout? I know they stocked it a few years back but I've never fished for em on that lake or heard if they took well and got any size to em. I'm semi familiar with the lake but any tips or advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

DNR says they never took...then again, how is the DNR to know.

The water is there. The habitat and oxygen should be there as well. Lake has tullies/ciscos.

I'm sure there are some still in there. No one is trying for them.

Let us know how you do.

Best of luck!

DNR discontinued stocking lakers back in '06. Oxygen levels were slowly disappearing in the cooler depths that lake trout needed. The only lake trout that would appear in test nets were yearlings that were stocked the same year. It's too bad, from what I've heard roosevelt was a pretty good trout lake back in the 70's, 80's, and into the 90's. It's being managed for muskies now.
