Open water sonar and ice fishing

those of you that use your open water sonar for ice fishing or merely just use it for gps (which is what I plan on doing) I am curious on what you do for power. I plan on mounting it to a genz box with a 12 v battery. but do you order separate power cables? or do you just use the same ones from your boat?

Probably a simple answer that I am lost on ...

You really only need 1 power cable since they are not cheap.

Cut the terminals off the power cable and put on a 2 pin quick disconnect male end with a fuse wired into the positive wire.

Then take 3 female end 2 pin quick disconnects with the terminals that you need. 1 with terminals for your boat battery, 1 for a 12v sla flasher batter, and 1 with a cigarette plug in.

Now you can use the unit wherever you want and is easily interchangeable without even removing the power cord from the unit itself.

I love that idea!! I am going to use this with my LX7 as well I don't like leaving it in my boat when going down the road or over night so I take it off and when doing so one time I bent the pins on my unit... with this quick release way i'll never have to remove from the back of the unit..
