Lake Champlain FLW tour

Smallie

Recommended Posts

Jim Moynagh, of the twin cities just took 3rd place in the Forrest L. Wood Open on Lake Champlain wich was good for $54,000 pay check. Not bad for a few days of fishing.

If you didn't get a chance to see the broadcast check it out, beautiful smallmouth, and largemouth bass. Some awesome bag weights, brought in this tight race for $210,00 1st place prize.

Hey everyone! I just got back from about 3 straight weeks on the road, including a trip to Plattsburg, NY to the Lake Champlain FLW event. I pre-fished with fellow Rev-Up pro Randy Howell and managed to catch a few nice smallmouth. I also saw day one and day two weigh-ins and man there are some big fish out there. It was a great event and a lot of fun to get to do some fishing.

Adam, did you fish as an Ametuer out at Champlain. Would like to here about the trip. I gave you some info for Minnewaska last year when I worked out at Mills. Anyways fishing has been spectacular for smallies on waska. 15 this morning between 15" to 17" what a blast busting bronzies.
Champlais is suppose to be the smallie capital of the world.
Are you fishing the Pro/Am on Le Hommedieu, if you are swing into the store.

Good fishing.

Cory,
No, I didn't compete in the tourny. Randy Howell needed my Rev-Up boat to use because he flew into NY. I drove over there and fished with him for his practice. I then drove home straight to Grand Rapids to fish the Pro/Am (which is quite a story in itself).
Yes, I will be fishing L' Homme Dieu. In fact, I will probably be there this weekend to practice. If you are still at Mills, I could stop in there and pick up some tackle and other necessities.
Talk to you later.

Adam,
I quit working for Mills last June after the Denny's on Lehommediue. I work at Northeast Outfitters sporting goods. Hwy 29 North right next to the new MC Dondalds. Make sure you swing in when your up.

How did the ProAm go in Grand Rapids.
Lehommediue, is going strong right now. I run Wensday night bass tournaments, and we have had some great weights coming in off the chain.

I just got back from a couple days on the chain. With the hot weather and heavy winds and boat traffic, fishing was not easy and I did not do real well. I will be back in town after the 4th to continue practice and I will stop in to Northeast Outfitters and see if you are around.
I did fairly well in Grand Rapids. I placed 19th with just under 15.5 pounds out of about 90 boats. Right now I am 20th overall so hopefully I can keep climbing the list.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
