Fishing the X this year and wondering about parking a wheelhouse outside the contest area. Can you drive on at Hole in the Day Bay on Fri., or is there another access close by?

In the Brainerd Area section of the forum there is a thread on the extravaganza, someone posted in there that you can get out on Friday, and that they don't block vehicle access until Saturday morning.

You shouldn't have any problems getting on the lake from the main access. The sheriff might choose to close the access friday night if it's getting too crazy on the lake but if everone uses their head, should remain open untill around 5:00am on saturday.

For those of you staying on the lake, be aware the security will be enforcing the rule that nobody will be allowed in the site until 8:00am. Any attempt to save holes with buckets etc prior to 8:00am will result in loss of buckets etc. There will also be a check point along each perimeter that you will have to use to enter the contest site. The Jc's will make an attempt to locate the check points close to each of the fish house villages to make it easy for everyone.

As I posted on FB, I love the fact that this rule will be enforced this year. I'll go out and camp next to ice holes at 2am with the rest of them, IF the rules allow for it, but they don't.

It may not be a bad idea to put a 2nd sticker on the entry ticket that says "I passed inspection". No "I passed inspection" sticker, no truck.

I like this idea and it wouldn't be hard to do, I'll suggest it to the chairman.
