Jerkbait rod

Bass Head

Recommended Posts

I love Kistler Rods. I personally like their KLX Crank, Rip and Twitch rods. I am kinda split on the rod length. Depending on the clarity of lakes I go to. The dirtier the water, the shorter rod I can get away with. The clearer the water, the longer the rod I will need to use to cast at further distance without blowing my cover. To each his own, not everyone has the same favorite. Just find the right rod that fits in your hand which you can feel comfortable throwing.

Im surprised some people like an X-fast action on jerkbaits while others prefer a Mod-Fast. We are talking about hard jerkbaits, right?

I thought of hard jerkbaits in the process when I typed. Knowing the model I picked from Kistler as I stated earlier--the action of the rod is very deceiving at best. Once the rod loads up, it felt like a moderate action crankbait rod as it should be. If we talking about soft plastic jerkbaits, we would want a fast action rod to use. Thanks for pointing something whether or not hard or soft jerkbaits, Craigums.
