Brookies!!!!

Driftless

Recommended Posts

Was fishing really tiny water and about to give up when I heard some fast moving water in the distance. This typically means a beaver dam. I was not disappointed when I walked up on it.

I had my favorite brookie lure on in a size 6 and was really excited. I slowly approached the hole in the stream bed. My first cast was true and 6 more casts came up with nice brookies. A couple were even XL brookies

Coasters?

So you don't like catching big trout or what?

Too far for me to drive. I have about a 1.5 hour comfort zone.

I don't target brookies here. I stumble on them while chasing browns.

The Pine River is 5 minutes away from my home. I am spoiled.
