regulators on ice castlesup

fasterthanyou

Question

So here we sit on lotw 2-3 new wheel houses the regulators have frooze up and I don't buy the small tank I have a 100# on my house and he has thirties. I think there reg r junk. I had a house on millacs and I never frooze up if I cant use my 25 thousand dollar ice castle because it's 15- I think ice castle needs to fix this issue. I will be calling them in the morning if I can't use my house unless it's above freezing then they need to buy it back. I got mine thawed out and now have put a towel around it. Sorry for my rant

Pretty sure nobody can guarantee a regulator to work once it gets really cold. Ice castle doesn't manufacture regulators. I have tried a few aftermarket regulators and have issues with them once it got around -20. They are not going to buy back your 25k icehouse no matter how much you cry about a regulator.

No your right I bought a camper not a fish house I know they did make the regulators.. they need to find reg that can handle it I never had issues with one on my old ice castle and used it at 30- I will fig this out just look back in a week I will find something my house at home don't have issues ever it has to do with reg size

I thought I was having trouble with my regulator also. It ended up being a check valve in the quick connector gas line from the regulator was freezing up. I installed a new hose from the regulator, with a different style connector (One that threads into the tank). It solved all my problems. -20 below and it still worked great.

When I had the hose made I had them make it longer so if I want to hook it up to a 100# I can. A couple of my buddies had the same problem and they changed there hoses and tank connectors and it fixed it.

We had the same issue as many do once it gets in the minus 20 and colder temps. We bought heat tape and wrapped it around the regulator and lines. If you run a generator which most do just plug in the heat tape and no more problems. It got minus 33 at Red one night and the lp kept flowing strong.
