JSK76
I've read a few complaints of the ion skipping all over the ice when you first try to drill. I never experienced this until yesterday because I typically drill in snow. I drilled in some 10" holes that I drilled in my wheel house with my other auger that had froze over and experienced the skipping auger syndrome others have mentioned. I found if you put down pressure on it just for a second it will drill right where you put it. I know with the shaver style blades down pressure isn't recommend because it can tweak the pitch of the blades that's why you just do it long enough to get started like a rotation, you really don't need much pressure at all just more then holding the auger and hitting the switch like you normally would do.
