WalleyeBIZ
Had a hard time keeping my pro 4 running! This is my third season with it! It never really seamed to run wide open for some reason! So my mechanic and I replaced the spark plug, didn't help, tested the compresson in the cylinder and it was at 30 or 40! Not sure if thats rite, so we pulled off the muffler and pulled it and it started and ran wide open like it finally grew some balls! It was amazing! I blew threw the muffler and it seemed a little restricted but not much at all! I ordered a new muffler from Jiffy, hopefully that solves the problem! Was wondering if anyone else had had a problem like this, and if this don't fix it, any sugestions would be welcome! Thanks

buck_eye_man
I feel your pain. I'm having the same problem with mine. Just doesn't seem to have the zip it should. Brought it to the mechanic and all they did was change the oil filter.Hopefully someone with some knowledge will chime in!
WalleyeBIZ
Try pulling off the muffler, then run it!
Rick G
The pro4 doesn't have the same kind of rpm as the two strokes did. I would try giving Jiffy customer service a call, they are pretty good at what they do
WalleyeBIZ
I've e-mailed them twice, no response yet! I also had to replace the aluminum gas line, which they charged me for! I'm not bashing Jiffy as i have two other jiffy augers, just want this one to run smooth!!
Recon
Had the same problems with mine! No power, starts hard seems very cold blooded!
Luke_M
I don't know if this could be it but every pro4 I have taken apart that had a running issue has had water in the regulator. I would try taking that off and see if there is any water that comes out. And the compression should read 100+
WalleyeBIZ
Went to my mechanics today to get my pro 4 today!! Put on the new muffler and it did the same old dump!! So my mechanic brian at peak performance checked the lifters!! they were bottomed out from the factory! He a he adjusted them to 6 thousadnths!! Did the trick, she has 98 lbs of compression and runs like a dream, havn't drilled a hole yet! Will let ya know tomorrow!!
