BoxMN
I was just searching for an thread about this, I know it is there, just can't find it. Sorry for this duplicate. But I took advice and re-greased my round Frabil pro therm and holy cow, what a difference! It is so easy even a caveman could do it... And they work soooo much better now. Here is how I did it, for those who haven't or don't know... All you need is a tabletop with a towel or rag on it, a tube of Subzero or Beaverdam grease (I got it at FF). 1 Extend the arm down. Pull the top black "catch/lever" - not sure what it is called, but the thing that catches the flag - right off. No tools needed, just give it a firm pull and it slides right off.2 Pull the shaft down and out of the tube.3 Clean the shaft.4 Take the tube of grease and put it to the bottom of the shaft-tube (cut the tip off as small as you can, so the opening is fine rather than large) (4a) (Have the tipup sort of upside down, so when the grease is filled it will leak out not drippinig on the tipup top)5 Squeeze grease in until it flows out a bit from the top (though this will likely be downward, since you have tipup upside down now...)6 Slide the shaft back in - warning, this will make more grease spill out of "top". There is a little "hitch" that might catch the shaft right before it gets fully through, just need to wiggle it a little.7 Clean off any spilled/excess grease.8 Slip the black "catch" piece back on, no tools needed for my 5, but I have heard that it might be loose on some, and you would need a pliers to pinch and tighten the little washer that keeps it on.9 Wrap up and you are done.Sorry if this is rehash, but I don't recall seeing all the steps in one place, but know that it has been detailed before. 100% difference in tipup operation. Good luck!
