That's how it always is in this Colorado forum. Lots of views/very little responses - that's okay though! I didn't make it there last year but I feel like I need to ice it this winter time and hopefully tag into a big ol' Laker. I'm pitching it to a sponsor company of mine - trying to get an outing with a handful of us and film it. Worth a shot haha. The inlines are fun, I don't know if I'd trust the drag on a reel big fish but I mainly bust mine out with small jigs when panfishing/trout fishing. I wouldn't say they change the game or anything, but I've enjoyed playing around with the EC this year. You lived in CO before??

Forgot I posted a response. Yeah I lived in Fort Collins the past 8 years. Just moved to Mankato back in late August. I miss Colorado but the ice fishing up here is a good experience. Little different than what I'm used to. Shelter, heater, gas auger are a must up here. I rarely used my shelter in CO. Looking back, I probably should have used a shelter and heater more often. Would have been a lot more comfortable. Due to work, I've only been out on the ice 2 times but hope to get out a few more times soon.

I read the posts to live vicariously through MN bassfisher as I grew up near Rifle on the west slope, did ALOT of fishing never through the ice, didn't have too as Rifle Creek and the Colorado River always had open water to fish, I get back once a year to see family usually in late Sept. and fish somewhere, lots to chose from. Don't always have to leave a post when read the thread, all has already been said.

I have two of the EC's and enjoy them, had some issues early and fixed them on my own now trying to assist others, see ice fishing thread, on theirs. I've landed a 5lb pike on mine with 3lb mono no issues, just be patient.

The biggest fish I've tied into is a 14" Rainbow that fought pretty good, how did the drag work for you on that 5lb Pike??

the drag worked well, as I said I was patient and eased the pike up to the hole and didn't get any long violent runs just steady pulling and short runs that started slow, but maybe it was just that fish and it didn't go berserk on me.
