sleepymoewi
Went to a 2500 Crew GMC Duramax 4X4 vs. 1/2 ton same set-up gas. The way it looks curb weight difference is < 1,000lbs. Where I ice fish it is usually 12-15" of ice, not big ice like up north.Any concerns with additional weight do you think? I see plenty of other big rigs later in season. Thanks
randerson
Most resorts on the Big water will restrict 2500- 1 ton vehicles to after 15"
NKLCOLT1911
depending on what your pulling i would wait till you were closer to 15" rather than 12"
fsnrod
I would buy a 1500 dollar 1/2 ton for driving on the lakes.
Grum
I would also suggest you talk to your insurance agent about what your policy covers in the event that if it did go through the ice. It's always better to know BEFORE rather than shocked later, that now not only do you have to pay for the recovery out of pocket but also have to eat the loss of the vehicle. tsande00
I use a 3/4 ton and 14" is my personal minimum.
