Monkster
I know I can send for it from Eskimo, but does anyone know where I can go buy (in the metro) a recoil for my Eskimo Stingray. I checked the usual places online, but no one lists a recoil replacement.
jentz
What broke on it?Maybe it can be repaired? I do them often and most need repairs and no new parts.
Monkster
The rope didn't go all the way back into the recoil most of last year. My son, 16, pulled it on Saturday and rope/grip came all of the way out of recoil. Truth is, I have yet to even look at it (work). I was just trying to get ahead of the curve finding a new one. Is there a spring/coil in there that can be fixed or reattahced? I can look at it after work today and give more info!

You take out the 4 allen bolts, wiggle and jiggle the recoil assembly out, and you wind the recoil springs back to spec and re-install. Make sure you reinforce the handle area where the rope enters. This will fix the slack issue and get the new spunk back into the recoilGood luck.edit_ one addition, this may require a few installs and removals to dial in the recoil to your likings. Greenhornet84
That's the only draw back to my Eskimo I get to re build the recoil about once a year. Watch some YouTube videos if you haven't done it before. A few times and you'll be an old pro.
Lusid
Just a pro tip - always carry an allen wrench set while out on the ice, because when it snaps it's miserable and fishing will come to an instant HALT.
