Rejuvenating Batteries

Recommended Posts

Has anybody ever try to rejuvenate their old/dead fishfinder seal batteries? Or similar? I was looking at some videos on Y-TUBE about this. Mixing Epsom salt with Distill water and add into batteries. I have 2 dead batteries laying around and thinking about trying it out. We OUTDOOR GUYS hate to see that dead battery laying there waiting to get thrown out or never to be touched again. So giving a shot wouldn't hurt having an extra battery on the side. I know some wouldn't suggest doing this but was wondering if anybody ever tried it.

Acid sulphuric to be specific make's the chemical reaction with a lead plate battery.Your epsom salts will ruin any battery! The smart chargers will desulficate and equalize the cells 2 different settings on the charger.Thats the only way to go as the above posts states.I also have 10 year old batteries one at 12 and the smart charger is a Miracle worker.I even have brought truck batteries back to life with the smart charger!!

Most of the decent newer automatic chargers have desulphate on them. Mine is a Schumacher 100 amp commercial. The lowest setting is 1 amp and is the only one it will charge such a small battery with out erroring out.

Walmart carrys the homeowner line of Schumacher chargers. I am sure some of them will have it.
