Kettle
Looking at the numbers they are at their peak according to ducks unlimited biologist the population is around the 1 million mark. Overall I think MN has done a lot of the past ten years or so to make waterfowl hunting here more appealing to the hunter. Noon opener slowly back to 1/2 hour before sunrise, early split season (Great in some areas but lengthened overall imo would be better) and a possession limit to 18 birds. I think we have come a long way, this may be something that happens or it may not. We are still the only state with motorized decoy restrictions, but overall I feel like MN hunting is getting better. Whats the reason maybe several things, increased population (definitely helps) but what about decrease in wetlands in the Dakotas due to drain tile shifting the birds east, maybe wishful thinking. MN may be slow at things and slow at changes but I think they are thought through. I guess I cannot say I disagree with what you think nor agree, I will go with the flow. But I do hope you are harvesting some beautiful Drake Redheads Happy Hunting Kettle
