jcox651
What would you consider safe? Had a few people tell me they have been out within the last week. Checked some ice last Saturday... Broke through with rocks, and there was about 6 holes somebody had already drilled. With the snow what should i expect?
gwiff100
im not sure what you have in the cities... but some of our lakes out here in western mn had 5-7in... so i am thinking they should still be pretty decent this weekend.
crappie55409
I was out in the slush last night on a metro lake and it still had 4-5 inches of ice. with this cold snap coming in this weekend im sure the slush will freeze up but its going to create some really crappy ice that im hoping wont affect the long term ice build this year
Larry3760
any updates with all this cold weather?
ski_otter
there are trucks out on a lake near me
monstermoose78
I am on the northside of the metro and most of the lakes are hitting the 12 inch mark of ice. With that said 2-3 inches is white frozen slush. Not much for snow on the lakes, but please let the ice thicken up some before taking out the trucks. It is not worth dropping your rig into the lake, because you hit a weak spot or thin spot. Please be careful out there!!
norseman
Went out on Tonka (Carmen)last night, 5-6 inches. Some really slushy spots. Kinda sketchy but saw a few wheelers and snowmobiles out there. Truck worthy maybe by Christmas (for me anyway).Stay safe!
LucasMN
Wow that's surprising. Here near St. Cloud we had 7-10+ inches last weekend. No slush at all.I assume it's thicker now.
Dozer
Saw 2 trucks out on Clear Lake south of the city of Forest Lake tonight.
tcbow
SW metro has a solid 9-11 of ice. Fishing is a bit slow, but so far the quality is okay.
monstermoose78
the slush is frozen but it is still weak compared to clear ice
