Weasel Trapping

Has anyone trapped weasels before? I used to trap when I was younger but not weasels. My son saw a stuffed weasel and decided he wanted to get one. I never really thought about weasels before and didn't realize they are in all of MN. I have only seen them up north while deer hunting. Some co-workers said they have seen them around here (Carver County). Going off what I read, I made a box trap and got some liver and brought it up north two times. I didn't catch any, but they may not have been in those areas. One big question - is there any hope at finding/trapping a weasel around here? It would be kind of cool to have my son catch one on our own property. (We are out in the country with some fields/wetlands/woods).

Weasels are pretty easy to trap. But call me when you go to remove one from your box trap. I want to SEE that!!

Seriously, trapping a weasel is not hard. They are ver bold and not that wary. We used to have one living right in our porch and he would come out and wander around when there were a dozen people sitting out there.

They are blood-thirsty little killers and predators but otherwise pretty harmless and fun to watch.

If you scout around and find one it might be more fun to sit and watch it live rather than stuffed full of plastic and sitting on a shelf.
