I can't wait to try it out. I just got done ordering everything. I got the PTC-U (with battery and charger) on the auction HSOforum for $98 with free shipping. Got the xi-9-20 ducer from the cardinal direction that ryhmes with best + marine HSOforum for $53 and free shipping and got a new lakemaster chip (old chip doesn't work with the 597) from the world foremost outfitter for $99 with free shipping. I figure I got a new setup for less than what the garmin oregon 450t I was thinking of getting to replace my old h2o would have cost me.

I second that. Although I run a lowrance a color unit with gps and lake maps to me trumps a Vex everytime. After my first trip out with a elite 5 last winter my fl20 was put up for sale. If any body is interested the Vexilar pro pac works perfect. I cut the ears where the knobs were to attach the vex and was able to mount the graph right to the vex case. This year I am putting a elite 7 on the vex case for a bigger map screen
