Question for Ranger Guy's

Bucktailer

Recommended Posts

IMO no, especially if you want to run higher speeds like say 5 plus... I have a prokicker 9.9 on my 620 and to run 5 plus you have to be pretty wound up. If you like the 4 or less mph range you might be ok. If I strictly trolled muskies with a kicker my next would be a 15hp... 620 is a big hull to push around especially if you have some wind.

I can't speak from experience, as my Ranger isn't a 620. However most of the muskie guys I know with that boat say if they had to do it over, they would rig that boat with a 15 Kicker. I have an 1860 with a 175 Verado that works great for trolling. 3.1MPH is as slow as I can get it to troll, but 3-5MPH is usually where I end up playing for musky anyways, so it works well.
