Otter Resort

Anyone else wish the Resort would have the cross link seating instead of the old style seating? I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they would have changed it and also would buy the sportsmans caddy.

My guess is they haven't done it because of the large span from one end to the other on the Resort model. Too much weight in the middle to support. Although they could make an upright to support the middle. You could always go purchase a piece of aluminum and make your own. I actually took the one out of my otter and use the old cross bar style. I felt the new ones sit too high.

I just thought for sure they would incorporate it into the new Resort, not only to have all the seats the same, but also allow them to sell the sportsman's caddie to people with the Resort house. I'm not handy enough to make mine own. I think I'll hold out hope they make that change next year and stick with my current house.

The resort is too long to put that seating into it with out adding vertical support or making the seat rail bigger and that wouldn't work with the seats and Sportsmans Caddy. The resort is HUGE and you need a 7' bed to get it in unless you drop the tail gate and strap it in. Isnt the Lodge big enough for you? I have fished 3 guys in my Lodges. A bit tight but in a pinch not a big deal.

that or do a portable modification. I made my resort into my own lil resort. carpeted top that sits as high as the sled and flip up boat seats for when its time to fish. spent many over night trips in my resort with the seats flipped down I almost have a twin size bed to sleep on

I think it would be easy for them to add a vertical bar and get it to work. Maybe you couldn't flip the seats up at that spot but that's not a big deal at all. Transporting the bigger house is no worry so why not go with it? I always pull it with a wheeler as well so I think bigger is better.

I converted a Canvas Craft house to the new style bar and put my caddy in and the slide style Otter seats.

No, it is not as long as a resort but with a little work here and there, it works.

I am sure one could brace it up to work in a resort.

I converted my Canvas craft masinly to use the Sportsmen Caddy, I love that.
