strange question for grouse hunters

I broke my leg and cannot walk the trails for a while . I am heading north to winterize my boat and wanted to get my dog out. I won't be with anyone that can take him out on the trails so I got to thinking. Can I drive the logging trails behind my dog and if he happens to go on point can I get out of the truck and shoot as long as my gun is not loaded in the car? I know that the chances of this are pretty much nil but I don't want to break any laws. I have read the regulations up and down and unless I missed something I should be able to do this.

You sure can. I have done the same with my young dog who has more energy than I do.
