thirdeye
This should be of interest to anyone that does home canning.... Ball has reintroduced the 1-1/2 pint jars. They went out of production in the 80's and I have hoarded about 15 or so, threatening anyone ahead of time if they break one or don't return it. Mrs ~t~ found them is cases of 9 jars at WalMart for $10. They are such a perfect size and I have paid as much as $4.50 each when I can find them at auction sites or garage sales.. Of course you can freeze in these jars too. They are ideal for chicken breasts and strips of country (shoulder) ribs, or wild game. Processing is the same as for quarts, so there is no tricky math or anything.
