Hey guys,

I remember reading about the big box building store putting knotty pine planking on sale. I see they have their Caribou Pine Planking half price with a mail in rebate (the 14 sq ft packages). It comes out to $7.50 a package, but you have to mess around with the dumb mail in rebate.

My question is this, I am finishing a Yetti in May or so, should I buy this now? Does it ever actually go on sale without a mail in rebate? I remember someone posting that it is buy one get one free sometimes. Any idea how often that is? I hate rebates!

I want to go with pine and I want it to be as light as possible, I am not a fan of paneling. This seems like the best option for me.

They will have it on sale again, where it will be buy one get one free, no rebate needed. It goes on sale frequently. I am not sure on how often exactly but it will be before May probably 2 or 3 times.

I've never seen it buy one get one without the rebate. Lots of people on here waited a LONG time for the rebated offer. I bought mine 2 1/2 months ago and just got the rebate last week

I bought it last fall about this time of the year B1G1 it was right after the rebate sale I finished the inside of my deer stand with this stuff

Are you guys talkin about the 4" wide 1/4" thick stuff or the regular 6" wide x 3/4" ????

I've built 4 fish houses with the stuff, and I've never had buy 1 get 1 free via a mail in rebate. It's always been in store. They may have changed the way they do it, since the vast majority of mail in rebates are never redeemed

its 4"wide 5/16" thick. Plus Menards doesn't do rebates they do merchandise credit for future purchases they get you coming and going I'm sure its great for them because a lot of those don't get used or are used on something the customer doesn't need

Here's another Menard's scam. I bought the stuff about 2-3 months ago and just got my rebate last week for $300. I asked if they could transfer it to a gift card because I didn't need, and won't need, $300 of their junk for a while and the paper card will wear out. They said they don't do that anymore, nobody knew why, they just don't do it anymore. Just like randerson & LRG said, they hope you don't use them or run them thru the washing machine. I hate myself for walking in their store. I deal with them on a commercial level also and they are just as bad on that side.
