Gas Oven Issue

DrJill

Recommended Posts

It is a Frigidaire ES100. Today the oven failed to ignite. sick

This has happened before and we've replaced the igniter.

But on those occasions the igniter would be glowing, dispite needing to be replaced. Not the case today. The igniter stays cold. Everything else appears/acts normal. Bad igniter or something else ?

Might want to make sure the circuit or any GFIs in the kitchen are not tripped. The stove uses electricity to heat up the igniter before the gas valve is energized. Also not sure if there may be a way to see if there is power getting to the igniter it may be a power board problem.

That said most of the time it is the igniter itself.
