I posted this already on the st cloud forum but I wasn't sure if this was a common report from a small pond so I will put it on the bass forum too.Found it odd to find two large mouths in a pond today on my way to an estimate. The bass were hanging under some green slime on the surface of the water.I was kinda there for some carping and was set up with a circle hook, slipshot and crawler. One Large mouth measured at 17" and the other was 14".I don't know if someone just put them in there or what. This pond has a great amount of Sun fish too. full-45395-36502-imag0425.jpg

Not sure if it is true or not, but I have heard that fish can get into these ponds from Herons or other birds. The eggs stick to their legs and get brought into other ponds. I found a few dead bass last spring in my small pond(5-6ft deep) that no one put in there. They were a pound or two, so they must of made it thru a few winters. Sounds like you got a new bass hotspot!

We'll I'm not sure what type of pond it is but three sides of it has homes surrounding the pond. One side is the street. There is a drain with a grid on it on the street side. There could be other drains that Are hidden but. A small river runs east and west about a mile away.I don't see any sign that the river connects in any way.I saw someone ice fishing this last winter. There are many sunfish small to medium in there so I will have to assume the pond doesn't freeze all the way.I just don't understand catching somewhat big large mouth in that tiny pond.Anything's possible I guess.
