Pelican Lake, Orr, MN duck hunting

Anybody hunt this lake for ducks and geese? I have a cabin on lake kabetogama that doesnt allow hunting on it so this would only be a 40 minute drive from there. Does anyone have experience on this lake to help me out?

Why is it illegal to hunt Kab?

It was great once upon a time. Has been poor for many years. I usually hive it a try once a year and am almost always disappointed. Pay to hunt nett instead or find better lakes.

Its illegal to hunt on kab due to it being in Voyageurs national park, but to the north on Rainy Lake in black bay it does allow waterfowl hunting. Has anybody tried hunting up there?

Have hunted black bay for years, lots of competition on weekends. Can be good if you hit it just right, not many ducks anymore with lack of bluebills
