NELS-BELLS Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Yeah they changed it so they could possibly get all the slots filled. Last year there was 135 slots and only 79 hunters showed up I believe. This year there was 150 slots and I think the number of applicants was 120. Out of that 120, figure 30% won't show up. So with all the land on the north end of camp, there isn't nearly enough guys hunting to truly spoil the areas for the youth hunt. Hope that everyone (vets and youth) score big time! Not sure if it has any effect on the youth hunt but of the 3 spots that we scouted for the youth hunt last year, we found a gut pile at 2 of them.Nels Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hope that everyone (vets and youth) score big time! Musky I sure hope you didn't take my comments the wrong way. Both the youth and veterans are deserving parties. It just would be nice if Ripley could stagger the hunts in a way that each area could "rest" been hunts.It is still a great opportunity either way! We're not complaining.
