Starting about now the male trout in our small streams are moving upstream to prepare for the Fall spawn.

The Fall brings on a change in many of our trout. Their colors become more bright to impress the female trout. The older trout develop pronounced "kypes." Their lower jaws get a hook on them.

These trout are driven by mother nature. They are typically in out of place runs. They leave the safety of their year round haunts. Starting now and through the end of September is the absolute best time to catch a trout of a lifetime due to the spawn urge.
