Shopping for scopes - Anyone own a Leupold VX3L or Zeiss Conquest HD5?

Recommended Posts

Looking at new scopes and have it narrowed down to Zeiss Conquest HD5 2 x 10, 42 objective, FOV 56-11, eye relief 3.6” for $850

Or

Leupold VX-3L 3.5 x 10, 50 objective, FOV 29.8-11, eye relief 3.6” for $700

I kind of like the wider FOV and ability to start at 2 power on the Zeiss but the Leupold is cheaper and has a bigger objective (supposedly bigger is better for low light). Plus Leupold has the CDL system if it comes in my odd caliber.

It's going on a .240 Weatherby Mag

Opinions?

Thanks

I have the VX-3 3.5-10x40 on a .270 that I use for deer hunting. It has been a great scope, never any problems. I think they are both good scopes, unless you like the Zeiss better, get the Leupold and shoot more the the money you saved.
