A Friend Relayed This Story To Me Today.

If this tidbit doesn't fire you up for late season trout you need to lay your rod down.

The ones you lose are remembered longer than the ones you land.

It was a 3-5 minute battle. I am not sure of the exact length of time with adrenaline and all. It fought kinda lazily. The hole was only 3 feet deep. When it saw the net it went ballistic. It broke off my 6 pound test.

I think it was female, jaw wasn't too hooky, the body was very broad too, so I suspect it was full of eggs. It was 25-27 inch long. The colors were incredibly bold, a very deep golden brown color. That creek seems to have great sustainable natural reproduction in brown trout but I haven't been catching too many brookies lately, except in the uppermost stretches.
