High Mountain Hiking/Fishing, Keystone, CO - 8/3/2013

We took the 4X4's off road and up a local trail near Keystone, CO. We then branched off on separate and more difficult trail, it didn't take long for us to find a nice campsite for the weekend. Saturday morning we woke up, had some coffee with breakfast, and headed up the trail. We traveled about 2.5 miles and found the "trail" where you need to scramble up to see the lake. The lake was beautiful, scenic, and calm. Fast forward about 30 minutes and the wind picked up. With the wind came the clouds...and rain. The fish didn't cooperate but we were able to spend a little bit of time by the water before the afternoon storms caused us to retreat below treeline. It is peak time for wild flowers in the mountains! Another great weekend in the Colorado back country!

Dang, that looks amazing. I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind a camping trip like that.
